Building Code & Estimate Disclaimer

Effective date: [Effective Date]

XactAudit helps licensed professionals find line items that may be missing from an insurance estimate and reference the building code provisions that may support them. This page explains the limits of that help. It is part of our Terms of Service.

Informational and analytical aid only

Line-item recommendations, quantities, unit prices, waste calculations, jurisdiction and code-edition detection, citations to the International Residential Code (IRC) or other codes, manufacturer references, and any summaries produced by XactAudit are informational and analytical aids. They are generated with automated analysis from the documents you provide and from reference information that may be incomplete, simplified, or out of date.

Not professional advice

Nothing produced by XactAudit is legal advice, engineering advice, architectural advice, or insurance-adjusting advice. XactAudit is not a licensed contractor, public adjuster, engineer, or law firm, and it does not negotiate, submit, or adjust claims on anyone’s behalf.

Your responsibility to verify

  • Confirm which code edition and local amendments the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) actually enforces for the property. Code adoption varies by state, county, and municipality, and XactAudit may rely on state-level defaults or automated research that has not been independently verified.
  • Check manufacturer installation instructions and warranty requirements for the specific products involved.
  • Verify measurements, quantities, prices, and pricing-list codes against your own documentation, site inspection, and the carrier estimate.
  • Review every line item and citation before relying on it. You, as the licensed contractor or certified adjuster, are responsible for the content of anything you submit to a carrier, homeowner, or other party.

No guarantee of outcome

A carrier may accept, reduce, or deny any item regardless of what XactAudit suggests. Sample figures shown on our website are illustrative and are not promises of results.

Review screens

XactAudit line-item suggestions and building code references are informational aids produced with automated analysis. They are not legal, engineering, or insurance-adjusting advice and may be incomplete or out of date. The licensed contractor or certified adjuster submitting any document must review every item and verify applicable code requirements with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) before carrier submission.

Exported PDF packets
